ViVa! Vienna! Offers Rides, Food, Fun On Memorial Day Weekend – patch.com

VIENNA, VA—Vienna is the place to be on Memorial Day weekend as it holds the three-day ViVa! Vienna! festival with rides, food entertainment and more. This year’s event happens Saturday, May 26, through Monday, May 28 along Church Street.
The festival begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, with 30 carnival rides and around 30 food vendors and entertainment on the Town Green. On Sunday and Monday, more than 300 vendors join the festival, representing a variety of artisans, community and historic organizations, and sponsors.
One of the highlights is the Memorial Day Tribute on the Town Green main stage Monday at 1 p.m.; Vienna resident and retired Marine Damien Marsh will be the guest speaker.
A new addition this year is the Washington Capitals’ Street Caps, who will have an ice rink, corn hole games, and giveaways for children.

All proceeds go to charitable and community organizations. “I love the fact that 100% of proceeds from ViVa! Vienna! go out to 70-plus local charities and make an impact for these organizations,” sayid 2018 festival chair AJ Oskuie in a statement. “So, we’re having a great time and doing some good at the same time.”
ViVa! Vienna has been hosted by the Rotary Club of Vienna for 33 years and draws over 50,000 people. The event celebrates the sense of community in the small town near DC, says Rotary Club Member Cristin Etheredge, who helps organize the event.
“I like seeing people so happy and enjoying themselves, said Etheredge. “I love watching the joy of the people at the festival, seeing their laughter and smiles and the joy they’re sharing with their family and friends–and knowing that I played a small part in that is amazing.”
Admission to ViVa! Vienna! is free. Tickets can be purchased for rides at $1 each, $20 for a sheet of 24, or $35 for an all-day wristband.
Parking will be limited. ViVa! Vienna! parking signs will be posted where businesses have agreed to allow festival parking. There will be lots of parking and free shuttle available at the Vienna Metro Station and Madison High School.
